NBA Rumors suggest that the Orlando Magic are meeting with former Pacers head coach Frank Vogel.

When the Indiana Pacers’ Larry Bird decided to let sixth-year head coach Frank Vogel go following the 2015-16 season, he became one of the hottest names on the market.

Vogel, along with like Tom Thibodeau, became a hot name and teams who had recently let go their head coaches have been eyeing him as a possible replacement — the Knicks have also been involved in Vogel talks.

However, a new team has jumped into the mix on Monday as the former Pacers’ head coach has reportedly met with the Orlando Magic.

No surprise as Adrian Wojnarowski was the one who brought this rumor to light as he’s always on top of NBA behind-the-scenes talks.

Bird admitted he didn’t let Vogel go because of a playoff loss or even lack of solid play, but because his offense never improved. His team ranked in the bottom third of the league in points per possession, which led to the decision.

The Orlando Magic are coming off a 35-47 season and 11th place finish in the Eastern Conference, so they could use a guy like Vogel who has been to the playoffs in five out of six seasons in Indiana.

Vogel even led the Pacers to a 56-26 record just two years ago, losing to the Heat in a memorable Eastern Conference Finals.

Orlando could use an upgrade at the head coaching position, and Vogel is just that. His career record is 250-181 with a postseason mark of 31-30.

The Magic have not made the playoffs since 2011-12.
