After Exaggerator won the Preakness Stakes, everyone took to Twitter to react to this race.
On Saturday evening, the Preakness Stakes took place. This is the second biggest horse race of the year coming just two weeks after the Kentucky Derby. Nyquist won the race on May 7 after being the favorite coming into the event.
The Preakness is the second race as part of the Triple Crown schedule. Everyone was looking for Nyquist to win this contest to be one step away from reaching horse racing’s second consecutive Triple Crown. American Pharoah won in 2015.
Nyquist came into this race as the favorite and dominated this race, but Exaggerator ended up winning. He handed Nyquist his first defeat, and Twitter reacted to the result of the Preakness Stakes.

The reaction seems somewhat mixed to Exaggerator winning the Preakness Stakes. Some fans were looking forward to seeing another possible Triple Crown winner, but that won’t be the case.
As for the ending of the race, Nyquist had the lead or a share of it for the majority of the time. He seemed to lose steam toward the end as Exaggerator bolted ahead and won the race. This comes after he came in second place at the Kentucky Derby.
Exaggerator and Nyquist should come into the Belmont Stakes in three weeks as the favorites. It should make for another fun race to cap off these three big events.
