With a late recruiting addition, it looks like Duke has edged out Kentucky for the top 2016 recruiting class.

The battles in recruiting are just as important as the battles on the field in college athletics. When it comes to recruiting in college basketball, the Duke Blue Devils and Kentucky Wildcats are two eternal juggernauts destined to rise and do battle for the rights to the top players in the world until the end of time.

While the Wildcats edged out the Blue Devils in recruiting last year, it’s Duke that has the edge this year in recruiting, thanks to landing five-star center Marques Bolden.

According to 24/7Sports Team Recruiting board, the Blue Devils have the No. 1 recruiting class for 2016.

While rankings are always purely subjective when it comes to recruiting, landing Bolden was a huge land for the Blue Devils and it really stung for the Wildcats, as they were trying to land his services as well.

There’s been a little contention between Kentucky head coach John Calipari and Duke over the way Calipari believes that Duke recruits. While that might be a matter of petty differences, the Blue Devils appear to have the edge going into next season.

Should these two teams meet in the NCAA Tournament next season, it will be a treat for college basketball fans everywhere.
