New York Mets pitcher Matt Harvey had another poor outing against the Washington Nationals and Twitter blew up over it.
After Tommy John surgery was required for New York Mets pitcher Matt Harvey, he returned valiantly in 2015 and helped lead his team to the World Series, where they ultimately fell to the Kansas City Royals.
With plenty of high expectations for the Mets in 2016, Harvey was expected to once again perform like an ace and help lead them back to the World Series. Instead, Harvey has been dreadful this year and just about everything has been a struggle.
After the Washington Nationals lit up Harvey in front of his home crowd last week, he was booed off the field and it was clear that Mets fans were growing impatient with him. With Harvey taking on the Nationals on Tuesday night, he was hoping to bounce back and put together a huge start in a big moment.
Instead, he was bombed again and Twitter was absolutely ruthless to him after yet another poor start on the mound from him.
Matt Harvey is the Joker not the Dark Knight. Don't get it twisted.

Matt Harvey is doing a great job limiting his innings this year by not being able to make it past 5.

Where have you gone Matt Harvey. You are sorely missed. Your team can't get that golden ring without you. #ReturnTheDarkKnight #NYMets

It’s clear that at this point, any and all hope in Harvey has officially been lost in New York. He has issues with his mechanics that need a lot of work and probably the mental side of the game as well.
Can they afford to keep throwing him out on the mound?
