5. Los Angeles Lakers

The Los Angeles Lakers have the No. 2 pick in the 2016 NBA Draft and it’s likely that take Brandon Ingram with their pick. By grabbing Ingram, the Lakers will have a young core of Ingram, Julius Randle, Jordan Clarkson and D’Angelo Russell.

Conventional wisdom with the Lakers is that they’re going to try to swing some moves to get some superstars on the roster, but what if they went for a young player that could pay off in Bismack Biyombo.

The Lakers will need to address the center position in the offseason and Biyombo could be easier to attain than say an Al Horford. Biyombo also has one of those personalities that would make him beloved in Los Angeles.

He’s also young and he would be able to grow with the young core that the Lakers will have in place. It’s a different path back to winning for the Lakers, but this is certainly one that everyone could get behind.

There will be questions about whether he can exist with Julius Randle on the floor, but Biyombo can be a potentially special player and they shouldn’t be swayed off by that. Keep an eye on the Lakers if they don’t land the big fish.
