According to reports out of Spain, Real Madrid have asked Sevilla’s head coach, Unai Emery, to wait until after the Champions League final before deciding his future.

Zinedine Zidane was named as Real Madrid’s head coach in January after the club struggled under Rafa Benitez. Despite Benitez only taking over for Carlo Ancelotti at the beginning of the season, he wasn’t given much time at the helm, and was let go halfway through his first season in Madrid.

While many were skeptical about whether Zidane was ready to take over such a big club, he has done a magnificent job since taking over.  He nearly caught Barcelona at the top of the table in La Liga, and brought his team all the way to the UEFA Champions League final — where they will take on crosstown rivals, Atletico Madrid, on Saturday.

However, according to Spanish outlet AS, Real Madrid are still not entirely convinced by the French legend. Even though both the players and fans seem to love him, they have reportedly asked Sevilla’s head coach, Unai Emery, to hold off on deciding his future until after Saturday’s final.

Los Blancos want to wait until after the match before determining Zidane’s fate, and are considering Emery as a possible replacement. The 44-year-old has led Sevilla to a remarkable three consecutive UEFA Europa League titles and could be looking for a new challenge.

Real Madrid will look to claim their second Champions League title in three years when they take on Atletico Madrid at the San Siro in Milan on Saturday at 2:45 p.m. ET.
