According to a report, the Los Angeles Lakers might give consideration to acquiring Philadelphia 76ers center Jahlil Okafor.

With the amount of young big men that the Philadelphia 76ers have on their roster coupled with the amount of future assets that they have, they really have a chance to strike it rich and make some deals around the league to balance out their roster with young talent at other spots that they might not have been fortunate enough to acquire in other drafts.

On Friday, ESPN’s Marc Stein and Chad Ford both reported that the 76ers would give strong consideration to moving either Nerlens Noel or Jahlil Okafor this summer. With Joel Embiid coming back from injury and Dario Saric coming over, the 76ers will need to move someone.

There should be no shortage of teams interested in acquiring one of the big men from the 76ers. One team that could be interested in acquiring Okafor is the Los Angeles Lakers.

According to Chad Ford, the Lakers “Okafor” last year, before they chose to draft D’Angelo Russell instead.

While it makes sense that they might want to revisit a chance at acquiring a big man that had a great rookie year, it’s also a matter of fit with the Lakers, who already have Julius Randle on the roster at the power forward spot.

While the two teams seem like a common match, a deal might be a little tougher to pull off because of fit and not because of a lack of assets, which they both have to get the deal done.
