Looking at the 2016 NCAA Baseball Tournament and the Nashville Regional after it was set on Monday

In college sports and sports as a whole, it doesn’t get much better than the NCAA Baseball Tournament and one of the most storied programs in all of college baseball and the tournament is the Vanderbilt Commodores. Despite having their share of ups and downs throughout the regular season, the Commodores still played well enough and had enough success to earn the right to host a region in the Nashville Regional.

Despite their struggles at times throughout the year, the question about Vanderbilt heading into the 2016 NCAA Baseball Tournament is whether or not they’re going to be able to keep rolling like they did at the end of the regular season. We obviously can’t know that just yet in any regard, however we can see that the Commodores are going to have some interesting matchups at this point of the tournament and things could get wild in Nashville.

Here’s a look at the Nashville Regional for the 2016 NCAA Baseball Tournament:

Perhaps the most interesting team in the Nashville region is a team that has been following a similar narrative to the hosts of Vanderbilt, UC Santa Barbara. Despite being one of the most talented teams in the country, the Gauchos have played well below their ceiling too often this season. If they get it rolling, though, they have the talent to come out of the Nashville Regional.
