Joel Embiid wants Kevin Durant to sign with the 76ers this offseason so he tried to recruit him over Twitter.

The Philadelphia 76ers have an extremely unique player in Joel Embiid. Not only does he have a ton of potential as a center or power forward, he also has a lovable personality that he’s not afraid to show over Twitter. Embiid showed his classic sense of humor on Twitter when he tried to recruit soon to be free agent Kevin Durant to join the 76ers this offseason.

Durant to the 76ers might seem silly. Why would Durant join the 76ers, the worst team in the NBA? Embiid reminded everyone that the 76ers nearly recruited a star not that long ago.

Will Durant sign with the 76ers? Probably not. He likely wouldn’t fit into their current plans, assuming that the 76ers are still rebuilding. However, it’s not completely out of the question. The 76ers certainly have some young talent. They also have a number of draft picks that they could use to acquire some good players.

Adding Durant into the mix would require the 76ers to completely change their organizational philosophy, but what they’re doing now likely isn’t working. They have to make serious moves to improve their team at some point. Durant is a guy who is worth changing an organization’s philosophy for. If the 76ers want to be taken seriously, getting Durant would be one heck of a way to do that.
