The cover for NBA2K17 will be released on Wednesday but it’s expected to be Indiana Pacers stud Paul George.

Indiana Pacers All-Star Paul George is gracing the cover of NBA2K17.

The official announcement isn’t coming until Wednesday but a since-deleted PS4 pre-order from Sony’s website, shows the covers for this year’s game and it’s got the Pacers All-Star on the cover. There are also two limited-edition covers with retired Los Angeles Lakers guard Kob Bryant.

This marks the first time George has been named to the cover and it’s an honor that’s well-deserved.

Previous NBA2K cover stars include, James Harden, Anthony Davis, Stephen Curry, Derrick Rose, Blake Griffin, LeBron James and Kevin Durant graced the cover twice.

This is really nice company to be in for George as the list is populated with former No. 1 overall picks and former league MVP’s.

You can make the argument for LeBron, Curry or Durant to be on the cover again after the seasons they had, as well as players like Russell Westbrook or Klay Thompson. But putting George on the cover is a wonderful comeback story for the player who suffered a gruesome leg injury in the summer of 2014 in the USA Basketball Showcase.
