DraftKings Late MLB Picks For June 2

There are eight night games tonight, which makes this the larger tournament of the day. There are a lot of stats to go through, and a few good options. Let’s find out what the past stats say!

More from DraftKings

NOTE: these picks are based solely on statistics. Some players have never faced their opponents, or have very little experience against them. I am not saying that none of those are good picks. The highest scorer of the day could be someone with no experience against his opponent. This is based on statistical analysis only. If you have a gut feeling, then by all means, follow that. This is not an exact science. The best lineups usually have a mix of proven stats and hot players.

Colin Rea has never faced the Mariners and has little offensive punch behind him, so he is a risk against anyone. Matt Boyd has never faced the Yankees, and their bats really struggled against the Blue Jays. Boyd also carries a 2.79 ERA into this game, so he could be worth a look for those of you that want to gamble a little.

Best Bets:

Wei-Yin Chen ($7,300): The current Pirates are only hitting .196 against Chen in 46 at bats, with a homer, two RBI, and nine strikeouts. All of the damage was done by Sean Rodriguez when he was with the Rays, but he is hitting only .174 against Chen, so he hasn’t exactly hit him hard.

Matt Moore ($8,100): Yes, the Twins hit lefties well, but not this one. Moore has held the Twins to a .222 average and just two runs while striking out nine in two starts against them. He also wont have to deal with the Twins’ most dangerous hitter in Miguel Sano. This is shaping up to be a good one for Moore.

Honorable Mention:

Carlos Carrasco ($10,300): Carrasco would be hands down the best option of the night if he weren’t on a pitch limit in his first start off of the disabled list. Reports are that he will be held to around 80 pitches, which means he is unlikely to last more than five innings. Its a shame too, because the Royals have hit only .204 against Carrasco in 162 at bats with only three homers, 11 RBI, and 48 strikeouts. The injured Alex Gordon has two of those homers. Carrasco will likely have a good, albeit brief, outing, but the others above him have more potential for points.

Michael Pineda ($7,100): Pineda has been closer to piñata lately. He has only given up less than five runs once in his last four starts. So why is he on here? The Tigers are only hitting .238 off of him in 21 at bats with seven strikeouts. Just beware the small sample size and the current struggles.

Dark Horse:

Juan Nicasio ($6,900): Nicasio has struggled so much lately, that he is likely to be removed from the rotation when either Jameson Taillon or Tyler Glasnow get the call this month. That said, The Marlins are only hitting .239 off of him in 67 at bats with a homer, seven RBI, and 15 strikeouts. How much do you trust him?

You have heard our FanDuel experts Matt Rogers and Brian Tulloch talk about “stacking” pieces of a lineup against certain pitchers. Here are the stacks that could work well on DraftKings today, based on past statistics.

The Indians have seen enough of Yordano Ventura that they have hit him hard a few times. Jason Kipnis ($4,400) is 7-25(.280) with a walk, a homer, and four RBI against him. Francisco Lindor ($4,800) is already 3-6 against him, but has no counting stats. Jose Ramirez ($3,700) is 4-12 with two walks, a double, and four RBI. Carlos Santana ($4,400) is only 6-20, but he has five walks, a double, two homers, and four RBI off of Ventura.

Rick Porcello has cooled off, and the Orioles are hitting .314 off of him in 159 at bats. You know a stack is in order! Chris Davis ($3,900) is 8-26(.308) with a walk, a double, three homers, and seven RBI against Porcello. Ryan Flaherty ($2,600) may see a spot start somewhere considering he is 5-9 with a walk, a homer, and two RBI against Porcello. Manny Machado ($4,700) is 7-18(.389) with a walk, a double, and a pair of RBI. Adam Jones ($3,400) is 9-34(.265) with a double, a homer, and six RBI against Porcello.

Ubaldo Jimenez has not had a good outing in nearly a month, and although his nemesis, Pablo Sandoval, is out, there are still enough Red Sox players that have hit him well to warrant a stack. The white-hot Mookie Betts ($5,500) is 6-15 with a walk, a double and a RBI against Ubaldo. So is Xander Bogaerts ($5,300), except he has three walks and three RBI. David Ortiz is just 2-20, but he has walked seven times and one of the hits is a home run. Dustin Pedroia ($5,000) is 10-26(.385) with four walks, two doubles, and four RBI.

Maikel Franco ($3,400) is 2-6 with a homer and three RBI against Chase Anderson. Odubel Herrera ($3,900) is 3-6 with two walks, but has yet to drive in a run. Ryan Howard ($3,100) is 3-9 with two doubles and two RBI off Anderson.

Matt Kemp ($4,200) is 7-24(.292) with a walk, a double, two homers, and five RBI off of Wade Miley.

Kirk Nieuwenhuis ($3,200) is 4-6 with three doubles and two RBI in his career against Jerad Eickhoff. Back on April 24th, Ryan Braun and Scooter Gennett both hit solo homers off of him in a game in which Eickhoff was tagged for seven runs.

Marcell Ozuna ($4,500) is only 1-4 off of Juan Nicasio, but the one hit is a grand slam.

Charlie Blackmon ($5,200) is 3-6 with a homer and two RBI against the struggling Alfredo Simon.

Kendrys Morales ($3,100) is 2-8 with a walk, a double, a homer, and two RBI against Carlos Carrasco.
