4. The Hawks can hand the team over to Dennis Schroder

In what should be no surprise in a deal like this, it would mean the Hawks are handing over the reins of their team to point guard Dennis Schroder. With two point guards on the roster, the older Teague became expendable and the Hawks really like the way the Schroder plays the point guard position.

Schroder is still just 22 years old and already has plenty of experience in his short career. He hasn’t even hit his prime yet and is likely to get a lot better, which should be a scary thought for all of the other teams that will be taking on the Hawks in the future.

With Teague out of the equation, Schroder can now really begin to take over on the court and not have to worry about fighting for his minutes. He’s a big piece apart of the core that the Hawks are building for the future and he has a chance to morph into the guy in Atlanta.

Whether it is with Philadelphia or someone else, this deal was always bound to happen to pave the way for Schroder. Now it appears that his time has finally arrived and he has shown that he can lead the team on the court.
