2. The Hawks would have an exciting core for the future

Let’s assume that this deal would mean the end of Al Horford in Atlanta. That would essentially mean swapping out a 27-year-old Jeff Teague for a 22-year-old Dennis Schroder and a 29-year-old Al Horford for a 22-year-old Nerlens Noel.

Suddenly, the Atlanta Hawks have gotten younger and can compete for a lot longer than their current roster would have allowed them to.

Also by not having to commit a ton of money to Horford, means that the Hawks will be able to have flexibility with cap space and can make moves to further add around the young talent on their roster.

Paul Millsap is the veteran of the group and would certainly be the leader of the team, but it’s exciting thinking about what the Hawks could suddenly do with their newfound core of players.

Also Noel and Schroder have both proven to be talented players in this league already, which means that the Hawks would be able to remain competitive with savvy moves to fill out the rest of the roster.

Add in a great coach like Mike Budenholzer and this team should be one of the most fun to watch if the deal is completed and a new era begins for Hawks basketball.
