Univision’s announcer for the Copa America threw some shade at USMNT fans when James Rodriguez made it 2-0.

Even when they’re not playing each other, there’s no love lost between the USMNT and Mexico. It’s easily the biggest soccer rivalry in North America, and both sets of fans have had their moments against one another. A lot of USA’s best moments against the Mexican National Team have involved the scoreline of 2-0, which prompts their fans to chant “dos a cero”.

So when James Rodriguez put Colombia up 2-0, Univision made sure to give Americans a taste of their own medicine:

"#USAvCOL: 42′ James Rodríguez marca el segundo gol para Colombia de penal #UDCentenario #Copa100 https://t.co/VibYOqObFU— Univision Deportes (@UnivisionSports) June 4, 2016"

James Rodriguez’s goal is a big one in the match, as it essentially puts Colombia up for good. There’s still a half left for the USMNT to try and salvage a point, but the way the game has gone, there’s been nothing to suggest that will happen.

Even though the USMNT has had more success against Mexico in recent years, on the whole, it’s Mexico who have had better fortunes. Their leading striker, Chicharito, played like one of the best strikers in the world at Bayer Leverkusen, and even though the US is hosting the Copa America, Mexico’s fans will travel well, and have a better chance of progressing than the Americans.

If Mexico and the USMNT ever do come face to face in the Copa America, it’ll make for must-see TV.
