DraftKings MLB Picks For June 3

There are 14 games tonight since the Cubs and Diamondbacks play a matinee at Wrigley. There are a lot of stats to go through, and a few good options. Let’s find out what the past stats say!

More from DraftKings

NOTE: these picks are based solely on statistics. Some players have never faced their opponents, or have very little experience against them. I am not saying that none of those are good picks. The highest scorer of the day could be someone with no experience against his opponent. This is based on statistical analysis only. If you have a gut feeling, then by all means, follow that. This is not an exact science. The best lineups usually have a mix of proven stats and hot players.

Kenta Maeda‘s start was pushed back. This is a stroke of luck for Maeda owners in fantasy leagues, and for those of us wanting to use him in DFS leagues. Instead of getting the Cubs at Wrigley, he gets the struggling Braves in Atlanta. He is a strong bet in this one.

Vince Velasquez has never faced the Brewers, and though Velasquez has struggled some lately, this could be where he gets it back on track.

Best Bets:.

Noah Syndergaard ($12,100): Syndergaard was brilliant for seven innings against the Marlins back on April 12, giving up just one run on seven hits and a walk while striking out 12. He got a no decision in that one, but the high strikeout potential keeps him an elite option.

Gio Gonzalez ($8,800): The Reds’ bats woke up in Colorado, but they may go silent against Gio Gonzalez. The Reds are hitting just .197 in 71 at bats against Gio with two homers (both by the same person), eight RBI, and an impressive 20 strikeouts. Most of the Reds’ power is from the left side, which makes Gonzalez a good pick here.

Honorable Mention:

Drew Pomeranz ($8,900): The Rockies are only hitting .209 in 43 at bats against Pomeranz, and this game is in San Diego, so the balls should mostly stay in the yard. Pomeranz has racked up 13 strikeouts against his division mates already while only giving up three runs. He should get back on track here.

Francisco Liriano ($7,900): Liriano has held the Angels to a paltry .169 average in 77 at bats with no homers, six runs, and 18 strikeouts. Albert Pujols, one of the heavy hitters, is just 1-15 against Liriano. Mike Trout is only 2-8, but he does have a pair of RBI. No matter how you look at this, this looks like a solid outing for Liriano.

Dark Horses:.

Jesse Hahn ($7,200): Hahn has held the Astros at a .178 average in 45 at bats with just one homer (by Evan Gattis, his only hit in eight at bats), three RBI, and 11 strikeouts. Hahn held the Astros scoreless through 6.2 innings back on April 30th in Houston. There is a good chance he pitches well against them again.

Adam Wainwright ($5,700): His career numbers aren’t great against the Giants. They are hitting .264 off of him in 140 at bats with two homers, 11 RBI, and 25 strikeouts. However, if you take away the stats of Hunter Pence and Angel Pagan, who are both on the DL, you get a different picture. Then the Giants are hitting only .211 with no homers and three RBI in 71 at bats. If you gambled with Wainwright, it paid off on Saturday. It may again!

You have heard our FanDuel experts Matt Rogers and Brian Tulloch talk about “stacking” pieces of a lineup against certain pitchers. Here are the stacks that could work well on DraftKings today, based on past statistics.

Yes, Johnny Cueto has given up just five runs in his past five starts since his meltdown against his former club in Cincinnati a month ago. However, a few Cardinals have hit him well. Yadier Molina (a bargain at $2,100) is 10-37(.270) with two doubles, two homers, and eight RBI off of Cueto. Matt Adams ($2,600) is 5-14(.357) with a walk, a double, and a solo homer. Matt Holliday ($3,100) is 12-40(.300) with five walks, four doubles, and seven RBI against Cueto.

R.A. Dickey has served up nine home runs and a whopping 46 RBI to Red Sox hitters in his career. Stack some Boston players! David Ortiz ($5,500) is 10-36(.278) with five walks, three doubles, three homers and nine RBI off of Dickey. Hanley Ramirez ($4,100) is only eligible at first base now, but he has clobbered Dickey. Hanley is 10-38(.263) with three doubles, a triple, a homer, and seven driven in off of him. Xander Bogaerts ($5,300) is 12-33(.364) with four doubles, a homer, and eight driven in as well. You can also consider Dustin Pedroia ($4,900) , who is 13-51(.255) with a cycle and six RBI against Dickey. Travis Shaw ($4,200) is 4-12 with three walks, two doubles, a homer, and four RBI off Dickey. Mookie Betts ($5,500) is 10-31(.323) with two walks, a double, three triples, and a pair of RBI. Stay away from Jackie Bradley Jr. though. Bradley is just 3-25(.120) against Dickey, but he does have a home run.

Has there not been a stack worthy of using against Chris Tillman? Tillman has pitched well (7-1, 2.92 ERA) so far this year, but the past stats support using some Yankees. Didi Gregorius ($2,900) is 5-10 with two walks, two doubles, a triple, and two RBI against Tillman. Mark Teixeira (3,100) is 9-25(.360) with four walks, two doubles, and three RBI against Tillman. Love him or hate him, just use him. Alex Rodriguez ($3,600) has feasted off of Tillman in his career. ARod is 6-16(.375) with three walks, four homers, and nine RBI against him.

It may be worth stacking some Cleveland hitters against Edinson Volquez. Lonnie Chisenhall ($3,100) is 5-9 with a walk, a double, a triple, and three RBI against Volquez. Jason Kipnis ($4,300) is 4-14(.286) with a walk, a double, and a solo homer. Carlos Santana ($4,100) is 3-12 with four walks and two solo homers against Volquez.

A whole horde of Padres have hit Chris Rusin well. As a team, they have hit .435 off of him in 46 at bats. John Jay, Matt Kemp, Derek Norris, Yangervis Solarte, and Melvin Upton, Jr., are all hitting .500 or better against Rusin. John Jay is 5-6! Matt Kemp has hit the only home run though.

Luckily for Taijuan Walker, Rougned Odor is still serving his suspension tomorrow, and Shin Soo Choo is still on the DL. Odor is 5-10 against Walker with a homer and two RBI. Choo is 2-7 with a homer and three RBI . Adrian Beltre ($4,200) is 5-11 with two doubles and three RBI against Walker. Prince Fielder ($3,500) is also 5-11, but has not driven in a run.

Jose Bautista ($4,100) is 19-55(.345) with seven walks, four doubles, six homers, and 14 RBI against David Price. He hit a two run bomb off of Price on Sunday, as a matter of fact. Edwin Encarnacion ($3,700) is 10-44(.227), but he has four walks, a double, three homers, and seven RBI off of him.

Adrian Gonzalez ($3,600) is only 4-14(.286) against Julio Teheran, but he has a homer and four RBI off of him. Yasmani Grandal ($2,700) is 4-9 with a walk, three doubles, and two RBI against Teheran. Yasiel Puig ($3,200) is 4-8 with a solo homer against Teheran.

Brian Dozier ($3,500) is 2-4 with a solo homer against Jake Odorizzi.

The A’s haven’t exactly hit Doug Fister hard, but they have hit him. Coco Crisp ($3,700) is 7-18(.389) with two triples and a RBI against Fister. Billy Butler (3,100) is 11-37(.297) with two walks and five RBI.

Gerardo Parra ($3,000) is 3-11(.273) with a walk, a homer, and two RBI against San Diego lefty Drew Pomeranz.

Yoenis Cespedes ($4,600) is 3-8 with two doubles, a triple, and two RBI against Tom Koehler. Michael Conforto ($3,900) is 2-7 with a walk, a homer, and four RBI. David Wright ($4,000) is 7-26(.269) with four walks, four doubles, and five RBI against Koehler.

Both Jordy Mercer ($3,000) and Sean Rodriguez ($3,100) have taken Jered Weaver deep in three at bats. David Freese ($3,900) is 4-6 against Jered Weaver.

Ian Kinsler ($4,700) and J.D. Martinez ($3,900) are 1-3 with a two run homer against Carlos Rodon.

Kyle Seager ($4,200) is 7-22(.318) with three walks, four doubles, and an impressive seven RBI against Yu Darvish. Seth Smith ($3,600) is 5-13(.385) with three doubles, a homer, and two RBI against Darvish.

Joey Votto ($4,100) certainly bucks the lefty-on-lefty trend here. Votto is 5-12 with three walks, a double, two homers and four RBI against Gio Gonzalez in his career.

Eric Hosmer ($4,900) is 8-23(.348) with a walk, four doubles, two homers, and six RBI against Danny Salazar.

Jimmy Rollins ($3,100) is only 8-35(.229) against Jordan Zimmerman, but he has two homers and five RBI against him.
