WWE legend Ric Flair once told an epic story about Muhammad Ali and a trip to North Korea.

People all over the world are expressing their thoughts and sharing their feelings as news of Muhammad Ali’s passing spreads. One intrepid Twitter user dug up a story from Ric Flair’s book To Be the Man about the two men and a trip to North Korea.

They had gone to the country for a promotional tour for a NJPW/WCW event back in 1995, which was organized by Antonio Inoki.

During one dinner, Ali flashed his trademark personality.

From Ric Flair’s book, To Be the Man:

"“Personally, I didn’t need North Korea on my resume to say I had a good life. Nor was there any monetary incentive. I went because it was an opportunity to associate myself with someone like Muhammad Ali as an international sports dignitary, and represent professional wrestling to a huge population who had never seen it.”… “Because of the ravages of Parkinson’s disease, it was difficult to understand Muhammad Ali when he spoke. But at one function, we were sitting at a big, round table with a group of North Korean luminaries when one of the guys started rambling on about the moral superiority of North Korea, and how they could take out the United States or Japan any time they wanted. Suddenly, Ali piped up, clear as a bell, ‘No wonder we hate these motherf–kers.'”"

WOOO! What an epic story.
