Next: Who are the top pitching options on Tuesday?

Tuesday night we have multiple aces on the bump including Zack Greinke, Cole Hamels, Jacob deGrom and Carlos Carrasco however there are two mid-tier hurlers that may present the best value when putting together your FanDuel MLB lineups.

Kyle Hendricks ($8,500) at Philadelphia: Similar to Monday, the largest favorite on the slate is the Cubs pitcher going up against the Phillies at Citizen Bank Park. Hendricks is coming off an impressive 48 point outing  against the Dodgers where he went 8 innings and struck out 6 for the win.

The game prior, Hendricks pitched a complete game racking up 7 strikeouts and 57 points against the same Phillies team he is going up against Tuesday night.

At this mid level price point and and the fact he is a massive favorite (-225), it makes Hendricks one of the top cash game plays and with so many other “name” aces, he could make for a sneaky tournament play as well.

Mike Leake ($7,000) at Cincinnati: Over the last 30 days, Leake is averaging 38.4 points per start which is second to only Zack Grienke on the slate however 15 pitchers have a higher price than the Cardinals pitcher.

Leake does not possess the kind of upside we look for in tournaments as he has not struck out more than 5 batters in any start over the last month however his consistency makes him an ideal target for cash game plays.

Pitching Summary: Hendricks is my top pitching target in both cash games and in tournaments as his match-up should provide a relatively safe floor and he has flashed tournament winning upside over this last two starts. In cash games, I will look to pivot to Leake in some alternate lineups as the additional $1,500 savings can be used to build a more elite lineup.

With a variety of top end pitchers on the mound, finding the right pitchers to attack on Tuesday’s slate will be critical when putting together your FanDuel MLB lineup.

Toronto Blue Jays versus LHP Matt BoydThe Blue Jays bats get one of the more favorable match-ups on Tuesday as they face a very hittable left hander in Matt Boyd. Boyd has a career 2.33 HR/9 and in one previous start against Toronto gave up 3 HR’s and 5 ER in 6 IP including home runs to Josh Donaldson and Jose Bautista.

Edwin Encarnacion ($4,000), Josh Donaldson ($4,000), Jose Bautista ($4,500) and Russell Martin ($2,800) all have the platoon edge and are all averaging double digit fantasy points over the last two weeks making for a high upside stack!

Robinson Cano ($3,800) versus RHP Carlos CarrascoCarrasco is back off the DL and gets the difficult task of facing one of the best hitters in all of baseball in Robinson Cano.

For BvP fans, Cano is 5 for 11 in his career against Carrasco with 1 home run.

Hitting Summary: The Blue Jays are my favorite stack on this slate and with the savings you get at SP, you can easily afford to stack their big bats and have enough left over to target Cano at 2B. As always, keep an eye on late breaking lineup news as value plays will surface late in the day and allow us to fill in the remaining spots in our lineup.

Below you will find my initial lineup for Tuesday’s MLB Main FanDuel slate including notes/comments on my roster construction.

Pitcher:

More from FanSided

  • Catcher: Miguel Montero ($2,500) After having the day off Monday, Montero should be back in the lineup Tuesday with the platoon edge against Eickhoff.
  • First Base: Edwin Encarnacion ($4,000)
  • Second Base: Robinson Cano ($3,800)
  • Third Base: Josh Donaldson ($4,000)
  • Shortstop: Wilmer Flores ($2,400) With the rain out Monday, Jonathan Niese will be pushed back a day and we know Flores was slated to hit 5th on Monday.
  • Outfield: Jose Bautista ($4,000)
  • Outfield: Justin Upton ($2,900) The man has officially broke out of his early season slump with a 40+ point game Monday. I am going back to the well with Upton Tuesday!
  • Outfield: Chris Owings ($2,400) With a LHP on the mound, Owings makes for a great value play with the platoon edge.
