UNC Wilmington Seahawks vs. South Carolina Gamecocks
Through the first couple of days in the Columbia Regional in the 2016 NCAA Baseball Tournament, it looked as if the No. 2 seed in the UNC Wilmington Seahawks were going to pull through and be the dominant team coming out of the region. However, that narrative changed when they met the hosts in the South Carolina Gamecocks on Sunday evening and now are faced with a winner-take-all affair on Monday on the home field of South Carolina in Carolina Stadium.

In the 10-1 victory for South Carolina on Sunday evening, the exceptionally loud UNC Wilmington bats went deathly silent. If the Seahawks are to stay alive, they’re going to have to get better contributions at the plate from Gavin Stupienski, Nick Feight, and Brian Mims. Meanwhile, the Gamecocks are also gunning for that spot in the Super Regionals and will need Gene Cone and their pitching to stay strong in this decisive game on Monday evening for all the marbles.
