Third Baseman

High-Salary Option: Nolan Arenado-Colorado Rockies (5,200): Arenado had his second multi-hit game in a row last night going 2-4 against the Dodgers in the Rockies win in LA.  He has at least 10 fantasy points in five of his last nine games including two 35+-fantasy-point bombs.  He and the Rockies take on the Dogers again tonight and will face Julio Urias who hasn’t looked ready for primetime in his brief stint in the Majors.  Arenado is especially brutal against lefties with an OPS of .992 against them this season, and he is hitting .385 over the last week with four homers and nine RBI.  If you can afford him, he remains a nice bat to build around in a matchup he should thrive in tonight.∗∗∗∗

High-Salary Option: Kris Bryant-Chicago Cubs (4,600): Bryant is showing signs of shaking off his sophomore slump after going 3-5 last night with a pair of doubles and a pair of runs scored in the Cubs’ 6-4 win.  He is hitting .292 so far this month and already has a pair of homers. He doesn’t have good career numbers against Jerad Eickhoff who starts for the Phillies tonight (1-6, 4 K’s), but he has the potential to go off with such production that any time he’s under 5K he has to at least be considered.∗∗

Mid-range Option: Eugenio Suarez-Cincinnati Reds (4,300): Suarez has started off June red hot going 8-18 with a double, three homers, six RBI, and eight runs scored.  He has 13 homers on the season and has eight of those long balls at home where he’ll face Mike Leake tonight.  Suarez has the pop to produce big lines as he reminded us with back-to-back games last week of 39 fantasy points and 24 fantasy points. ∗∗∗

Mid-range Option: Yangervis Solarte-San Diego Padres (3,600): Solarte homered and drove in three runs last night against the Braves going 2-4 to raise his average for the year to .329 and for the last week to .409. He has been hot lately with multi-hit games in in five of his last ten starts.  He is a nice value for a bat right in the middle of the lineup and is in a good matchup against the Braves’ Aaron Blair tonight. ∗∗∗∗∗

High-Value Option: Trevor Plouffe-Minnesota Twins (3,500):  Plouffe has hit in five straight games and got the day off Sunday before the off-day yesterday.  He should be back in the lineup today as the Twins welcome in the Marlins. Plouffe is hitting .313 so far in June which has raised his average on the year to a respectable .254. He’s a bargain bat in the middle of a lineup that should score some runs tonight, so go with him if you have to save money at this spot.∗∗∗

High-Value Option: Hernan Perez-Milwaukee Brewers (2,800):  Perez has been effective in inconsistent playing time this season hitting .316 with seven stolen bases, three homers, and 12 RBI in his 28 games.  He is a great option if he gets the start tonight against the A’s, but he is still losing playing time to Aaron Hill.  If he starts-∗∗∗ Stay away if he isn’t confirmed in the lineup.
