Kyrie Irving has been pretty terrible through the first two games of the NBA Finals. I’m sorry. After being injured in Game 1 last year, Irving missed the rest of the series as the Cavs lost in six games, leaving us all yearning for the true matchup between these two teams.

As the Cleveland Cavaliers entered this years’ championship series against the Golden State Warriors, it was apparent that Irving would have to play well if the Cavs would have any chance in defeating the defending champs. Where Kyrie lacks in defensive ability, he makes up scoring the ball, scampering into the lane and hitting threes in a hurry.

So far in Game 3, he’s done just that. Through one quarter of play, Uncle Drew is 7-9 from the floor, including this huge shot after a dazzling set of moves that left Steph Curry in the dust.

Despite his miserable play during the two games in Oakland, Kyrie showed up for Game 3, and the Cavs have benefitted greatly as he helped them get out to a very hot start that built a 20 point first quarter lead for the Cavs.
