Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton will not be dabbing after touchdowns next season.

2015 was a true breakout season for the Carolina Panthers and Cam Newton. The Panthers quarterback broke all kinds of records and led his team to a 17-2 record while winning the MVP, although he fell just short of the Super Bowl.

Along the way, he made lots of fans, and enemies, with his celebration, particularly when he dabbed every time he scored a rushing touchdown. Considering he’s become one of the best dual-threat quarterbacks of all-time, he was dabbing all over NFL teams.

Given how much success he had with the dab, many thought he would return it for the 2016 season. But on a radio interview, he has indicated that he will move past it:

Everyone will be quick to say that the Denver Broncos retired the dab for Newton, after they held him and his offense in check, but everyone knows that the dab was just a trend that was going to go away eventually. It’s largely dissipated now, and it will be shocking if people still do it when the NFL season starts up again.

However, Cam’s not going to change for anyone. He will still find a better, and more updated, way to celebrate his touchdowns. And given how explosive he is offensively, it probably won’t take long for opposing fans to find out what he has in store for the rest of the league this time.
