Joey Logano was the fastest on Friday, as he won qualifying for the FireKeepers Casino 400 at Michigan International Speedway.

With nine drivers already having clinched a spot into the Chase to compete for the 2016 Sprint Cup Championship, Joey Logano has yet to officially earn his spot in and earn the right compete for a championship.

After a good run at Pocono last week, Logano picked up some much needed momentum and he’s heading to a track at Michigan that he has had plenty of success at before on Sunday. On Friday, Logano did exactly what he had to do and he won qualifying for the FireKeepers Casino 400 on Sunday.

If Logano can pull off the win on Sunday, it will be the 10th entrant into the Chase, which would leave only six spots open to everyone else that is hoping to get in. Tony Stewart had a great qualifying run on Friday and he will start third overall on Sunday.

In Stewart’s final season, he is looking for one last win and he needs a lot of work if he’s going to make it into the Chase. This is the break he needed. Here are the complete qualifying results from Michigan.
