Taking a look at the post time for the 2016 Belmont Stakes

The 148th running of the Belmont Stakes is all geared up and ready to go and it should be quite a way to wrap up the Triple Crown races. While there won’t be another American Pharoah or Triple Crown winner this year, there has been a great deal of excitement throughout the horse racing world leading up to the trip to Belmont Park in Elmont, NY and now the race is here.

Granted, it likely would’ve been a bit more exciting to see a grudge match between the two star horses in this year’s horse racing competition. Nyquist won the Kentucky Derby and to remain undefeated over the course of its career, but that all changed at the Preakness Stakes when Exaggerator came out of nowhere to win and hand Nyquist that first loss.

Unfortunately, Nyquish came down ill before the 2016 Belmont Stakes and it’ll only be Exaggerator racing in New York that has a Triple Crown race win under the belt. Even still, though, that makes it all the more intriguing to see if there will be a third winner that will join the ranks or if it’ll be Exaggerator running away with it again.

Given the intrigue, fans may be wondering when exactly the 148th running of the Belmont Stakes will take place. Coverage of all the races will begin a 5 p.m. ET on NBC, but the actual post time is set for 6:32 p.m. ET. Make sure you’re ready to watch all the excitement unfold.
