Creator wins 2016 Belmont Stakes: Twitter reacts
After Creator won the 2016 Belmont Stakes by a nose, Twitter blew up over the close finish.
The 2016 Belmont Stakes was one of the most exciting horse races of all time and was a perfect end to the 2016 Triple Crown. Preakness Stakes winner Exaggerator came into the day as the heavy favorite, but he wasn’t much of a factor in the race at all.
Instead, it started off with Gettysburg holding the lead for most of the race, until Destin took the lead down the stretch. Just as it looked like Destin was going to pull off the win, Creator came from out of nowhere and caught up with Destin.
As the two fought for the win, they had one of the closest finishes in the history of the race and Creator edged him out by a nose. Because of the intense finish and great race that had just took place, Twitter blew up over the ending in disbelief of what they had just seen.

The final race of the Triple Crown was not without excitement, despite the fact that there was no Triple Crown on the line. Destin and Creator did their best to make the race as exciting as possible and they delivered.
