Le’Veon Bell uses new rap track to diss Skip Bayless

Le’Veon Bell has spent most of his offseason working on his rap career, and he took a shot at ESPN First Take host Skip Bayless in his latest track.

Pittsburgh Steelers running back Le’Veon Bell is arguably the best back in the National Football League, though he has had trouble staying on the field throughout his career. Last season, Bell sat out the first two games due to suspension, and then missed the last eight due to a knee injury.

This offseason, Bell has spent a lot of time in the studio while rehabbing his knee, and his recent work took a shot at ESPN First Take host Skip Bayless.

In his new track titled “Rubberbandz”, Bell raps, “That’s why I can’t wait until your new location,” referring to Bayless leaving ESPN, reportedly for Fox Sports 1. The tension between Bayless and Bell started in May when the host attacked Bell for making comments about the Bengals trying to intentionally injure him. In response, Bell offered to come on the show.

Bell was never invited to appear on the show, so instead, he used his rap skills to attack Bayless via song. The running back recently released the song via his twitter account.

Coming off another season that ended in injury, the Steelers are hoping Bell can stay healthy for a full slate. Backup DeAngelo Williams was awesome for Pittsburgh in his absence last year, rushing for 907 yards while leading the league in rushing touchdowns with 11. A healthy Bell would give the team a two-headed monster at running back in a very tough AFC North.

In his career, Bell has rushed for 2,777 yards in 35 games, scoring 19 rushing touchdowns. He was a First-team All-Pro in 2014, earning AFC Co-Offensive Player of the Year honors, while setting the Steelers single-season record for yards from scrimmage.

The Steelers open the 2016 season on Monday Night Football on September 12 against the Washington Redskins, and Williams expects Bell to be ready. He is coming off a pretty serious knee injury, so it will be interesting to see him at full strength once again.
