After missing his entire rookie season with a knee injury, Baltimore Ravens WR Breshad Perriman may be set to sit out his second year as well.

According to Adam Schefter on ESPN, Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Breshad Perriman has suffered a torn ACL in his left knee, and “will visit Dr. James Andrews on Monday to determine if he needs potential season-ending surgery.”

The Ravens took Perriman as a high-upside deep threat receiver in the first-round (26th overall) of the 2015 NFL Draft. Unfortunately, Perriman did not play a single snap in his rookie season, sitting out the entire year with a torn PCL in his right knee.

Rough break for the young guy who now appears likely to miss his entire second-year in the NFL.

When drafted, Perriman was looked at as a raw receiver with a potentially dynamic skill-set. If he were to put it all together in the NFL, the Ravens probably found a huge steal at number 26, but missing his first two years in the league would obviously be less than ideal.

The Ravens were really counting on Perriman to come in and make an impact in 2016, but now they will likely have to lean on guys like Kamar Aiken and Mike Wallace behind Steve Smith in the receiving corps.

Perriman was never a sure thing heading into 2016, but he certainly brings a lot of talent and upside to a less than stellar position for the Ravens. They can certainly come back from a loss like this, but if Perriman does end up missing the season, it certainly hurts.

Hopefully, Andrews checks out the injury and determines that Perriman will not have to miss the entire season. That being said, the Ravens should probably start planning on being without their 2015 first-round pick again this season.
