Reggie Bullock. 28. player. 29.
Original pick: Livio Jean-Charles

Doc Rivers did a number on Reggie Bullock’s value. The head coach and general manager of the Los Angeles Clippers elected to deploy Bullock for a total of 658 minutes during his tenure with the team, and then, Rivers shipped Bullock out to Detroit where he was effectively buried on the depth chart.

Some of that, of course, is due to Bullock’s limitations as a player, and that must be said. He didn’t play particularly well in limited duty with the Clippers, but at the same time, Rivers is famous for burying young players and largely eschewing the developmental process while his teams rarely practice.

As a result, Bullock is something of a mystery, but there is room for encouragement. In limited time with the Pistons, the 25-year-old wing made more than 40 percent of his threes, and that is in line with his skill set as a draft prospect from North Carolina. It remains to be seen if Bullock can keep that level, but as a homeless man’s “3-and-D” option, he could bring some value in Detroit or elsewhere.

The Spurs would never have made this choice, as evidenced by their actual investment in Livio Jean-Charles, but it could have been fun to watch Bullock in a better situation.
. SG. North Carolina
