First Baseman

High-Salary Option: Anthony Rizzo-Chicago Cubs (4,100): Rizzo has hit safely in each of his last ten starts, and he is 16-41 (.390) to start the month of June.  He has four doubles, three homers, and ten RBI during that stretch, so look for him to keep things going even though he’s in a tough lefty-lefty matchup against Gio Gonzalez who has held him to just 2-17 in his career.∗∗

Mid-range Option: Brandon Belt-San Francisco Giants (3,700): Belt and the Giants will face Matt Garza as Garza makes his first start of the season tonight for the Brewers. He has hit safely in seven in a row and is 14-40 (.350) with three doubles and three homers to start the month of June. Belt went 2-4 in the series opener and is hitting from the middle of the Giants order right now in a good matchup tonight.

Mid-range Option: Joey Votto-Cincinnati Reds (3,500)Votto has been on a tear lately going 9-24 (.375) over the last week with a homer, three doubles, six runs scores, and two RBI.  He has multiple hits in four of his last seven games along with four extra base hits.  If the Reds and Braves are able to get their game in despite the weather in Atlanta, look for Votto to have another good game as he faces Julio Teheran.∗∗∗

High-Value Option: Billy Butler-Oakland Athletics (2,800): Butler went 2-3 with a pair of walks last night after going 3-3 on Sunday with a double. Tonight, he and the A’s face lefty Martin Perez, so look for Butler to be back in the lineup again since he is hitting .348 against southpaws this season with five doubles and a homer against lefties while he has hit just .192 against righties.  Butler is a risky play, but he is in a matchup to attack, so give him a look if you have to go under 3K.∗∗∗
