Late Saturday night into early Sunday morning was a horrific time for America as 49 people were murdered inside of Pulse Nightclub in Orlando. Across the country, people have responded with prayers, donations and more and now Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban is getting into the act by pledging $1 million to the Dallas Police Department in response to the violence.

Via a report by a local Dallas news site, the money will be specifically used to beef up police presence in a LGBT heavy area of Dallas.

"Rawlings said in a news release that the money will be set aside for 16,000 hours of overtime for a bigger police presence for Oak Lawn, as well as other counter-terrorism efforts.Oak Lawn, known for its LGBT community, has come into focus in Dallas since the attack in which a gunman killed 49 people and wounded dozens of others before police officers killed him. The attack was the worst mass shooting in American history.Last year, Oak Lawn residents and patrons were also on edge after a spate of robberies and beatings there. Some believe the attacks, which are unsolved, were hate-motivated."

Say what you want about Cuban as an owner, but one thing that has never been up for debate is how much he cares. Cuban is constantly pledging his time and money for worthy causes and this is just another one of those. Cuban cares about Dallas and surrounding community and once again he has done right by them.
