Tanner Roark-Washington Nationals (9,000): Given their matchups, I wouldn’t go with Verlander or Nola tonight, but I do like Tanner Roark to have a solid game for the Nats as they try to avoid a letdown as they go on the road after taking two of three from the Cubs.  Washington is in San Diego to face the Padres in pitcher-friendly Petco.

Roark hasn’t needed a lot of help lately with two earned runs or fewer in four of his last five starts and seven of his last ten.  Roark is just 5-4 on the season despite a 2.93 ERA, and he turns in good strikeout numbers too with 72 in his 80 innings so far this season.  With the Nationals’ lineup coming around and a good matchup tonight, Roark is the highest-priced option that I would look at for this evening.∗∗

J.A. Happ-Toronto Blue Jays (8,000): Happ has been knocked around his last two starts by the heavy-hitting lineups of the Tigers and Orioles, so he’ll be looking for a bounce back outing in Philadelphia tonight against the much-more-manageable Phillies.  Happ’s ERA is still just 3.70 which has been enough to earn him a 7-3 start to the season.

With the Blue Jays bats behind him, he should be in line for a win if he can return to the form that saw him allow one run or fewer in four of his previous six starts before his last two ugly outings.∗∗
