The USA is moving on in Copa America Centenario, but when and where will its semifinal match be played?

In a game that had a little bit of everything, the USMNT got by Ecuador 2-1 on Thursday in Seattle, advancing to the semifinal of a Copa America for the first time since 1995. It was a team effort, to be sure, with clutch goal-scoring, just enough defense and goalkeeping, and plenty of heart and grit.

Now the U.S. faces a potentially much tougher challenge. Jurgen Klismann’s men will face the winner of the Argentina-Venezuela game on Saturday night, and either squad will pose a formidable threat — especially Argentina, who won its group going 3-0 and outscoring its opponents 10-1.

Regardless of who comes out of that contest, the USMNT already knows when and where it will be playing. The semifinal involving USA is set for Tuesday, June 21. The game will be played at NRG Stadium in Houston, home of the NFL’s Houston Texans.

The USA squad will be missing several key figures on Tuesday thanks to the testiness of the Ecuador match. Midfielder Jermaine Jones received a straight red card, while forward Bobby Wood and midfielder Alejandro Bedoya both picked up their second yellow cards of this Copa America, and all three men will be reduced to spectators in the semifinal.

Fox Sports 1 will carry the U.S. semifinal on Tuesday, with first kick scheduled to be around 9:00 pm ET.
