5. Historical Probability

History tells you a lot. If history tells you anything, the Cavaliers winning Game 7 would be one of the more improbable outcomes in sports history.

The Warriors set history becoming the first NBA team to win 73 regular season games. Draymond Green set history for having the most individual wins in one season.

If the Warriors lose the series, they would be the first team to come back from a 3-1 deficit in a series and then lose a 3-1 lead in the next series. This being a team that hasn’t lost back-to-back home games since March of 2014. They haven’t lost three games in a row since November of 2013.

For the Cavaliers to win this series will not only break those marks, it will be the biggest upset in terms of differential in regular season wins in NBA history. If the Warriors lose on Sunday it will be their ninth postseason loss, which would tie their nine regular season losses in 82 games.

It is not to say that all of these improbable records cannot be broken, but if you are going to bet on one side history tells you that the Warriors will still take this one. It is tough to go against probability.
