On Saturday, Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr confirmed that Andre Iguodala (sore lower back) will play in Game 7 of the NBA Finals on Sunday night.

Next: Golden State Warriors can regain composure by winning

If the Golden State Warriors are going to win back-to-back championships on Sunday night at Oracle Arena against the Cleveland Cavaliers, they’re going to need the reigning NBA Finals MVP to be his usual self.

Andre Iguodala struggled in Game 6 against the Cleveland Cavaliers due to a lower back issue and questions surrounded his status for Game 7.

Warriors head coach Steve Kerr set the record straight and confirmed that Iguodala will suit up and play for Golden State on Sunday night.

The Warriors need Iguodala on the floor. He’s a reliable ball-handler offensively that helps them open the floor up and he’s been the primary defender for trying to slow down LeBron James during the two championship series between the Warriors and Cavaliers.

Iguodala struggled this past Thursday night in Game 6 due to the back issue (and a shot from Richard Jefferson’s elbow on a drive to the basket), scoring just five points on five shot attempts and languished through 30:19 of playing time.

The Cavaliers have all of the momentum in the series after two huge wins, but if Iguodala is really ready to go and making plays on both ends of the floor, it makes Game 7 even more intriguing heading into Sunday night.
