According to Italian transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio, Sampdoria are targeting USMNT captain, Michael Bradley.

Michael Bradley is loving life at the moment. Not only has the 28-year-old led the United States Men’s National Team to the semi-finals of the Copa America Centenario, but he is also the captain of a Toronto FC side that looks poised to make a serious playoff run this season.

It shocked the world when he opted to leave Roma for Major League Soccer and TFC back in 2014, as he had numerous options to stay and ply his trade in Europe. After two and a half seasons playing with the Reds, it appears as though he still does.

According to a report from Italian transfer guru Gianlica Di Marzio, Serie A outfit have set their sights on the experienced midfielder.  The Blucerchiati are looking to bolster their squad ahead of the upcoming campaign, and believe Bradley could be just the solution they are looking for to address some of the issues they had in the middle of the park.

The American international spent two and a half seasons playing in the Italian top flight, playing for Chievo Verona and Roma. Despite the fact he appears to be an ideal fit for Sampdoria, acquiring him could prove to be a daunting task.

Bradley earns over $6 million a season playing in MLS, and it is highly likely he would have to take a pay cut to join the Italians. He is also the cornerstone of Toronto FC, and the franchise or the league are not interested in losing one of their biggest stars.
