Identifying the top high salary and value second baseman plays from around Major League Baseball for your June 21 DraftKings lineup.

Our goal is to help you win DraftKings contests with consistently strong lineups. To accomplish that, we’ll be highlighting some higher salary players worth paying up for, and some value picks that will help you save salary in key areas. These picks are specifically for DraftKings lineups, so all references to prices and fantasy points are based on DK figures.

As always, be sure to double-check final MLB lineups and monitor weather situations before locking in your DFS lineups.

High Salary

Jose Altuve, Astros (5,400): Altuve has had limited success in his career against Los Angeles Angels left-hander Hector Santiago, but he has absolutely destroyed left-handed pitching this season. The supremely-talented Altuve is hitting .371 against lefties, making him a strong play on Tuesday. He also ranks fourth in the majors with 18 stolen bases, further boosting his value.

Joe Panik, Giants (5,000): After hitting over .300 in his first two major league seasons, Panik has seen his average dip to .261 this season. He’s been on a nice run recently, however, hitting safely in nine of his last 10 games. He’s an intriguing play Tuesday against Pittsburgh Pirates right-hander Wilfredo Boscan, who will be making his first career start after five relief appearances.

High Value

Daniel Murphy, Nationals (3,600): It’s not often you’ll be able to roster the majors’ leader in batting average for less than 4,000. Murphy has hit safely in six of his last seven games and still leads Major League Baseball with a .356 average. That mark includes a .329 clip against lefties, so Tuesday’s matchup with Los Angeles Dodgers southpaw Scott Kazmir (5-3, 4.64 ERA) is decent.

Starlin Castro, Yankees (3,000): Tuesday’s game between the New York Yankees and Colorado Rockies in the Bronx should end up being one of the higher-scoring games on the slate. Castro offers cheap exposure to that fantasy goodness. He went 3-for-8 in the two games between these teams last week.
