As rumors of a trade heat up between the two teams, it looks as if the Celtics might be interested in Nerlens Noel from the 76ers

As the NBA Draft fast approaches this week, the rumored deals are starting to come to the surface. One of the new ones that we’ve heard about recently is the Philadelphia 76ers trying to take the No. 3 overall pick from the Boston Celtics, as they might be interested in taking Providence’s Kris Dunn in that spot.

The only question since this report surfaced is who the Celtics might be looking at from Philadelphia on their end? The initial word has been either Jahlil Okafor or Nerlens Noel, one of the two big man, Well, we might have our answer.

According to Brian Geltzeiler of HoopsCritic.com, the Celtics in this potential deal have their eyes on taking Noel if anything were to come to fruition between now and Thursday night.

From the perspective of the Celtics, taking a deal like this makes some sense. We know that they’re a playoff contender and we also know that they’re not short on guard play. However, they could use some help in the front court, so taking one of the Sixers’ big men could get them over that hump.

In two years on the court with the 76ers, Noel has averaged 10.5 points per game with 8.1 rebounds.
