The NBA Draft is where talented young prospects are officially introduced to the worldwide fanbases that will follow and celebrate them. Here are a few rules to make sure they’re dressed for success on such a big night.
The 2016 NBA Draft is almost upon us. It’s the debut night for the NBA’s next class of rising stars and for 60 rookies, it is the first opportunity to dress for success. Thirty million dollar contracts are handed out by Commissioner Adam Silver, and 30 draftees have an opportunity to look like a million bucks or Uncle Buck.
The NBA Draft has been the site for some fairly poor fitting suits. (Seriously.) Recently, however, it’s been the runway for some of the brighter trends in men’s fashion. Two years ago, Andrew Wiggins made a loud statement with a rose-printed black and white blazer that got mixed reviews but had some good ideas. The next year, Karl Anthony Town killed it in a Gray Herringbone jacket with a silver chain instead of the traditional neck tie.
There’s a lot that can go wrong with an outfit on a player’s debut night but when a look lands, it’s something special. (LOOK AT THIS MAN.)
