The Cleveland courts system is allowing people to miss court in order to attend Cavs parade.

When LeBron James, Kyrie Irving and the Cleveland Cavaliers took home the NBA championship on Sunday night, the city of Cleveland won their first professional sports title since 1952. Obviously, there is major reason for celebration in the city. People are even allowed to skip court!

I am sure that some people will think this is an absolute disgrace of the justice system, and if you commit a crime, you need to show up in court. While I would typically agree with that sentiment, this is awesome.

This city deserved a champion and King James and company were finally able to bring one to them. Allowing each Cleveland resident to celebrate with their team is a no-brainer, and allowing people to miss court because of the Cavs parade was a great move.

The excitement from this title will not be fading anytime soon, but Cavs’ organization does not have long before they have to prepare for next season.

The 2016 NBA Draft takes place on Thursday night, and while Cavs’ fans can skip court for a day and have all of the fun that they want, it is back to work for the front office and coaching staff as they prepare for next season and beyond.

It’s even possible that Kevin Love gets traded before the parade even ends. Now that would be a story.
