Today is a jam-packed day of baseball with games spread throughout the day.  The first game starts at an early 12:10 PM ET in Miami and the last game doesn’t get underway until 10:00 tonight out in LA.  In the middle of what should be over 12 straight hours of baseball, there are plenty of windows to play daily fantasy baseball.  For the purposes of my FanDuel daily picks for today, I’ll be focusing on the eight games under the lights tonight in the “Main” competition over on FanDuel. I’ll do my best to run down all the best plays from tonight’s 16 teams.

More from Baltimore Orioles

Rosters lock in on FanDuel at 7:05 when the Pirates and Giants get the night underway in Pittsburgh.  The main competition locks at 7:05 tonight with five games in that early timeslot.  The Pirates and Giants meet for the third time in  their four-game set, the Padres and Orioles finish up their two-game mini-seres, the Red Sox try get a win after losing two games at home to the White Sox, the Tigers try to take their third straight from Seattle, and the Indians and Rays will try to avoid the rain which could cause an issue towards the end of their contest. In the 8:00 timeslot,  the Rangers host the Reds, and the Phillies visit the Twins in another game threatened by weather.  The only series on the West Coast tonight is the third and final game of the Dodgers-Nationals matchup where LA can close out a sweep if they get a good outing from youngster Julio Urias.

As we continue into the middle of the summer with our expanded fantasy baseball coverage, my FanDuel daily picks will be posted each morning here at FanSided. My picks are designed to provide you the information you need to build your own lineup that can bring home a win for your team. In order to help you find the position and price-point that you need, there are a variety of options on each slide with high-salary options, mid-range options, and high-value options at each position.

For starting pitchers and outfielders, I’ve separated my picks into high-salary and high-value options on separate slides while the other positions each get one slide per position with multiple pricing options.  I base each of my picks on the current form of each player and the matchups each player will face in tonight’s contest game.

In my daily NBA picks, it was very helpful to rank my picks every morning using stars after each selection to show the strength of the pick. I’ll continue that rating system as I move over to cover fantasy baseball.  For a full explanation of the rating system, check out the last slide of this post, but in short, more stars means more confidence (on a points-per-dollar basis). Also on the final slide of the post, you can see how I’m putting together the my most confident picks into my lineups for today’s competition. I suggest you build your own customized team with the players you like the most, but you’re welcome to check out my lineups and use them as a place to get started.

In my FanDuel daily picks, all salary references and references to “fantasy points” refer to FanDuel pricing and scoring.  If you are looking for similar coverage specifically for DraftKings, check the box above for related posts or find the latest on the fantasy baseball hub.

If you have any questions about my picks for today or any of our FanSided fantasy coverage, you can leave them at the bottom of the page in the comments section.  For an even quicker response, you can find me throughout the day on Twitter @FansidedFantasy.

Make sure to follow on Twitter for any late-breaking lineup news as well and any adjustments as lineups come out throughout this Wednesday. As lineups come out throughout this evening, I’ll adjust my team if necessary and let you know my new lineup on Twitter.

If you find my picks and analysis helpful and would like to check out my DFS fantasy baseball posts each morning, the easiest way to find the FanDuel daily picks is to drop a bookmark on our fantasy baseball hub or follow on Twitter where I’ll tweet out the links each day when my picks go live.

There are plenty of good options even with just eight games on tap for tonight, so let’s get rolling with today’s FanDuel daily picks.
