NBA Finals: 5 reasons why Cavaliers-Warriors was best of all-time

4. LeBron James’ career-defining moment
LeBron James has had defining moments in his career. From his MVP’s, his two rings and of course the “decision”. But his performance and getting his third ring is his greatest accomplishment. The Akron kid fulfilled his promise in winning the Larry O’Brien trophy.
The Kings numbers were astounding this series. He was the first player in NBA playoff History to lead both series teams in points (29.7), FG percentage (49%), rebounds (11.3), assists (8.9), steals (2.6) and blocks (2.3). The Warriors poked the bear by chirping on the court and through social media. James played like a man possessed and he refused to let the Cavs lose.
He knew when he had to defer and let others take over. It was most evident with less than a minute left in Game 7 and he let Kyrie take the shot. Everyone in the world thought LeBron would be getting the ball on that possession. He let Irving isolate Curry and hit an absolute dagger. He did the same in Game 5 when both him and Kyrie dropped 41 on the Golden State. He let the Duke product perform on the biggest stage and called Irving’s performance one of the greatest he’s ever seen.
LeBron played in six straight NBA finals and who could be playing in many more but he made the sixth one count. His performance is one of the greatest in NBA Finals history and he continues to shut up the detractors.
