Utah Jazz – Assets galore

Rudy Gobert. Derrick Favors. Gordon Hayward. Trey Lyles. Alec Burks. Dante Exum.

Kevin Durant?

The Utah Jazz are absolutely loaded with young talent. The team’s record in 2015-2016 did not exactly display that talent, but much of that was due to injury issues throughout the campaign and Utah’s upside has been visible for quite some time.

In the frontcourt, the Gobert-Favors duo is formidable in many ways, but it is especially dominant on the defensive end. Gobert might be the best rim protector in the league, and Favors provides versatility in that he can succeed at both the 4 and the 5 depending on lineup. Next to them, Gordon Hayward is the best offensive option on the roster, and because of his length and shooting, he is able to play multiple positions as well.

Can you imagine throwing Kevin Durant in the mix with those three players?

There is some question at point guard, where Exum missed all of last season with injury, but there are ways to upgrade that spot, and with Durant on board, it wouldn’t be difficult to attract a stop-gap at the very least. Utah isn’t an appealing market for someone like Durant, but outside of that, there are a ton of basketball reasons to like this fit.
