Chicago Bulls – Teaming with Jimmy Butler

Stars want to play with stars, and the Bulls have a legitimate one in Jimmy Butler. Casual fans probably haven’t caught on to the fact that Butler is a top-15 player in the NBA today, but at ages 25 and 26, Butler has averaged 20.5 points, 5.6 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 1.7 steals per game over the past two seasons. It isn’t just numbers with Butler, either, as the rangy wing is one of the more suffocating perimeter defenders in the NBA and that brings incredible value.

Do you think Kevin Durant would like to pair with such a player?

Durant’s current circumstance in Oklahoma City (don’t worry, we’ll get there) is very nice, but Butler might be a better pure complement than Russell Westbrook. His presence would allow Durant to take a lot of nights off from defending high-level wings, and Butler would likely be more comfortable slotting into a secondary role offensively than Westbrook has ever been.

There are other reasons that Durant might want to head to Chicago, including the huge market size (trailing only New York and Los Angeles in the United States) and overall talent on the roster, but Jimmy Butler would help immensely.
