Identifying the top high salary and value outfielder plays from around Major League Baseball for your June 28 DraftKings lineup.

Our goal is to help you win DraftKings contests with consistently strong lineups. To accomplish that, we’ll be highlighting some higher salary players worth paying up for, and some value picks that will help you save salary in key areas. These picks are specifically for DraftKings lineups, so all references to prices and fantasy points are based on DK figures.

As always, be sure to double-check final MLB lineups and monitor weather situations before locking in your DFS lineups.

High Salary

Ian Desmond, Rangers (5,200): As it turns out, a change of scenery was exactly what Desmond needed. After a disappointing final year in Washington, Desmond ranks among the top 10 in the American League in average (.321; fifth) and RBIs (51; 10th). He’s reached double digits in fantasy points in nine of his last 12 games. He’s a strong play Tuesday against New York Yankees left-hander CC Sabathia.

Nelson Cruz, Mariners (5,100): Cruz’s fantasy value, particularly of late, has been tied to the long ball. He’s homered in two of his last 10 games, and those are the only two games in that stretch in which he has put up double-digit fantasy point totals. Still, Cruz is hitting .312 against lefties this season, making Tuesday’s matchup with Pittsburgh Pirates southpaw Jonathan Niese (6-5, 4.93 ERA) an exploitable one.

High Value

Franklin Gutierrez, Mariners (3,600): Gutierrez is always a smart play against left-handers, as he’s hitting .308 this season against southpaws (compared to .162 against righties). Seattle draws a favorable home matchup with Pittsburgh Pirates lefty Jonathan Niese on Tuesday, so Gutierrez and Cruz both make sense.

Shin-Soo Choo, Rangers (3,100): The Rangers’ recent red-hot streak has coincided with Choo’s performance at the plate. Texas has won three straight and eight of its last 10 to become the majors’ first team to 50 wins. Choo, meanwhile, has nine hits over a current five-game hitting streak, a stretch that features five double-digit fantasy point totals. At this price, he’s a perfect value play in Yankee Stadium.
