Identifying the top high salary and value first baseman plays from around Major League Baseball for your June 29 DraftKings lineup.

Our goal is to help you win DraftKings contests with consistently strong lineups. To accomplish that, we’ll be highlighting some higher salary players worth paying up for, and some value picks that will help you save salary in key areas. These picks are specifically for DraftKings lineups, so all references to prices and fantasy points are based on DK figures.

As always, be sure to double-check final MLB lineups and monitor weather situations before locking in your DFS lineups.

High Salary

Paul Goldschmidt, Diamondbacks (5,600): “Goldy” is not going to come cheap, but with Arizona pegged as one of the highest-scoring teams on Wednesday’s slate (5.1 runs), he should still be worth it. Against right-handers this season, Goldschmidt is hitting .275 with 11 home runs. Arizona defeated Philadelphia Phillies rookie Zach Eflin (0-2, 6.28 ERA) two weekends ago in Philly, and should be able to repeat that feat Wednesday in the desert.

Edwin Encarnacion, Blue Jays (5,300): Through the first two games of the series in Colorado, Encarnacion is 3-for-7 with two home runs and 43 combined DraftKings points. He should be able to add to that on Wednesday against left-handed rookie Tyler Anderson (0-1, 2.55 ERA). Encarnacion’s 21 home runs rank second in the majors, while his 69 RBIs lead all players.

High Value

Albert Pujols, Angels (3,700): Pujols might not be the scariest hitter in the baseball anymore, but he can still get it done. He’s hit safely in five straight games and has reached double digits in fantasy points in three of those five games. He’s homered twice against Houston Astros lefty Dallas Keuchel in his career, and boasts a .577 slugging percentage against southpaws this season. He’s a nice value play on Wednesday.

Joe Mauer, Twins (3,600): Like Pujols, Mauer is a shell of his former self, but sometimes a matchup is simply too sweet to ignore. Case in point: Mauer is 15-for-43 (.349) with three extra-base hits and 10 RBIs against Chicago White Sox veteran righty James Shields. Shields has been brutal this season (2-9, 6.22 ERA), so Mauer is intriguing.
