Identifying the top high salary and value catcher plays from around Major League Baseball for your June 30 DraftKings lineup.

Our goal is to help you win DraftKings contests with consistently strong lineups. To accomplish that, we’ll be highlighting some higher salary players worth paying up for, and some value picks that will help you save salary in key areas. These picks are specifically for DraftKings lineups, so all references to prices and fantasy points are based on DK figures.

As always, be sure to double-check final MLB lineups and monitor weather situations before locking in your DFS lineups.

High Salary

Buster Posey, Giants (4,300): Posey is always a viable play against left-handed pitching, so it’s no surprise to see him listed here for Thursday’s matchup with Oakland Athletics rookie southpaw Dillon Overton (1-0, 4.76 ERA). Posey has hit safely in eight of his last nine games, and should be able to keep that rolling on Thursday.

Salvador Perez, Royals (4,200): After a mid-month stretch where he hit five home runs over a span of eight games, Perez has gone homer-less since June 18. He has still hit consistently, and stands out as one of the better catcher options on Thursday’s slate. Perez, who is hitting .305 against right-handers this season, will face St. Louis Cardinals righty Mike Leake (5-5, 4.25 ERA).

High Value

Willson Contreras, Cubs (3,600): You might as well continue to ride the Chicago rookie while he’s hot. Contreras has now hit safely in 11 of the 12 games in which he’s received at least one at-bat. The Thursday matchup against New York Mets lefty Steven Matz might scare others off, but don’t be one of them. Contreras is hitting .385 against lefties, albeit in a very limited sample size.

Kurt Suzuki, Twins (2,900): Suzuki makes the most sense as a GPP play, but his recent run of success makes him hard to ignore. He’ll carry an eight-game hitting streak into play Thursday against Chicago White Sox lefty Carlos Rodon (2-6, 4.09 ERA). He’s also hitting a respectable .288 against southpaws this season. For the sub-3,000 price, you can do worse than Suzuki.
