There’s a decent chance Dion Waiters finds a new home quickly in free agency, and it may be with the Kings.

Dion Waiters is entering the 2016 NBA offseason as a free agent for the first time.

He is coming off a quiet season-and-a-half with the Oklahoma City Thunder, shooting no higher than 39-percent in a season.

As for where Waiters could go, according to Chris Mannix of The Vertical, the Sacramento Kings could wind up signing the four-year guard.

With Marco Belinelli shipped off to the Charlotte Hornets, there is an opening at shooting guard. Ben McLemore hasn’t provided them with the necessary production to start, and while Waiters hasn’t proven much as a starting two guard either, he could form a pairing. Waiters was seen as having potential coming out of Syracuse and could find some of it in a new home in Sacramento.

Signing Waiters would continue the Kings’ interesting offseason. They drafted two centers in the 2016 NBA Draft, despite having three on the roster already. DeMarcus Cousins is arguably the league’s top center, so them drafting more players at the position was questioned by many.

Where Dion Waiters ends up landing will be something to follow, as NBA free agency is just hours away. Based on this rumor, it’s possible he could sign fast.
