The New York Knicks aren’t a favorite to sign Kevin Durant, but they are going to try everything in their power to bring him in.

Kevin Durant is going to be widely sought after by NBA teams once free agency begins. He is the best player to hit the market since LeBron James in 2014 and will command a huge contract.

While the favorites for Durant may be the Oklahoma City Thunder, other teams feel they have a legitimate shot. One of them is the New York Knicks, as Adrian Wojnarowski of The Vertical is reporting that Carmelo Anthony, Derrick Rose, and Joakim Noah are trying to persuade the former NBA MVP to come to New York. Noah may be signing with the Knicks once free agency starts.

The Knicks are probably a big time longshot to sign Durant. They don’t have the attractive pieces that other teams like the Thunder, Warriors and Clippers have. That alone might take the Knicks out of the sweepstakes.

Where Kevin Durant ends up remains to be seen. The Thunder and Warriors seem to have the best chance of getting this star player. If it’s OKC, it would be status quo. If it’s the Warriors, it would be a game-changer. If it’s the Knicks, then the NBA world may go wild.
