Major League Baseball season is just about half over as teams near the official midway point before the ceremonial half-way stop at the All Star break. Tonight, the MLB gets the weekend off to a good start with 13 games in the main DFS fantasy baseball competitions.  Those 26 teams starting at 7:05 or later are the focus of today’s FanDuel daily picks on the following slides.

The early games not in the competition are the Indians at the Blue Jays who start early for Canada Day and the Nationals and the Reds who get started at 6:05.  Lineups lock and the main competition on FanDuel starts at 7:05 which is when the Phillies host the Royals.  At 7:10, three more games are scheduled to start–Mets @ Cubs, Tigers @ Rays, and Angels @ Red Sox.  Boston and New York could have some weather issues, though, so watch the forecast closely as we approach game time.  The Marlins and Braves start at 7:35 to finish up the first wave of games before three centrally-hosted games come in the 8:00 window–Rangers @ Twins, White Sox @ Astros, and Brewers @ Cardinals.  We close things out with five games from the West where the D-Backs host the Giants, the Dodgers take on the Rockies, the A’s host the Pirates, the Yankees head to San Diego, and the Orioles visit the Mariners in Seattle.

Some lineups to target tonight include the Cardinals against Matt Garza, the Rangers against Ervin Santana, and the Rockies against the Dodgers new starter Bud Norris. I’d stay away from the Cubs and Angels since both are on the road, threatened by weather, and up against strong starters if the games do fit between the rain drops.

As we continue moving quickly through the MLB season and come up to the All Star break, make sure to stay tuned to all our fantasy baseball coverage.  My FanDuel daily picks will continue to be posted most mornings right here at FanSided. My picks are designed to provide you the information you need to build your own lineup that can bring home a win for your team. In order to help you find the position and price-point that you need, there are a variety of options on each slide with high-salary options, mid-range options, and high-value options at each position.

More from Baltimore Orioles

For starting pitchers and outfielders, I’ve separated my picks into high-salary and high-value options on separate slides while the other positions each get one slide per position with multiple pricing options. I base each of my picks on the current form of each player and the matchups each player will face in tonight’s contest game.

I’ve found it very helpful to rank my picks every morning for whatever sport I’m writing about using stars after each selection to show the strength of the pick. I’ll continue that rating system as I move over to cover fantasy baseball. For a full explanation of the rating system, check out the last slide of this post, but in short, more stars means more confidence (on a points-per-dollar basis). Also on the final slide of the post, you can see how I’m putting together the my most confident picks into my lineups for today’s competition. I suggest you build your own customized team with the players you like the most, but you’re welcome to check out my lineups and use them as a place to get started.

In my FanDuel daily picks, all salary references and references to “fantasy points” refer to FanDuel pricing and scoring.  If you are looking for similar coverage specifically for DraftKings, check the box above for related posts or find the latest on the fantasy baseball hub.

If you have any questions about my picks for today or any of our FanSided fantasy coverage, you can leave them at the bottom of the page in the comments section.  For an even quicker response, you can find me throughout the day on Twitter @FansidedFantasy. I’ve been on the road the last few days, but I’m back at my control center so should be able to reply to tweets pretty quickly.

Make sure to follow on Twitter for any late-breaking lineup news as well and any adjustments as lineups come out throughout this Friday due to weather or other concerns. As lineups come out throughout this evening, I’ll adjust my team if necessary and let you know my new lineups on Twitter.
