2. Los Angeles Lakers

If you think Dwyane Wade, in his right mind, would think it’s a good idea to join the Los Angeles Lakers coming off a 17-65 season and losing Kobe Bryant to retirement, then you might want to avoid gambling at all costs.

The Lakers just added Brandon Ingram with the second pick in the NBA draft, but even with a talented young group of players, there’s no way this team even sniffs the playoffs next season and it might be three-to-five before they’re in the NBA title conversation.

After missing out on the Kevin Durant meeting sweepstakes, the Lakers’ top choice in the market has come and passed and that just means they’ll have to build the old-fashioned way with draft picks and young acquisitions mixed with veteran leadership.

Wade would be a nice piece in a lineup with D’Angelo Russell, Ingram, Julius Randle and potentially Hassan Whiteside who the Lakers also trying to snag in free agency. Still, there would be little help off the bench and Wade would be more of a babysitter than anything on that team.

Questionable coaching, poor leadership and lack of proven stars are three main reasons why Wade would be wise to avoid the Lakers in free agency.
