After nine years in Chicago, Bulls’ center Joakim Noah is now an unrestricted free agent. Here are the five best fits for the former defensive player of the year.

Ever since LeBron’s “Decision” back in the summer of 2010, free agency has evolved into the NBA’s second season, possessing as much intrigue and drama as actual basketball games. With the cap rising from $67 million to $94 million this upcoming season and possibly to $108 million the following year, this annual spectacle will only continue to grow in size and absurdity.

This year is no different with superstar Kevin Durant serving as this year’s most desired target, along with valued commodities such as DeMar Derozan, Al Horford, and Hassan Whiteside garnering interest from numerous suitors.

Not to be lost in the madness is the 2014 Defensive Player of the Year, Joakim Noah. During that year, Noah was one of the most dynamic and versatile players in the Association, averaging 12.6 points, 11.3 rebounds, and 5.4 assists and even finished in the top five in MVP votes.

However, in the two years following that tremendous season, the feisty Frenchmen has been unable to replicate the production and under new head coach Fred Hoiberg, he was benched in favor of the more offensively talented Nikola Mirotic last season.

Noah’s season and possible tenure with the Chicago Bulls came to an early end in January when he suffered a dislocated left shoulder.

Entering his 10th season, the now 31-year-old Noah is an unrestricted free agent and after a rather disappointing year due to perceived under-utilization with the Bulls, he will most likely seek a new opportunity when the NBA’s free agency period starts July 1st.
